Nobuyuki Tsujii (辻井 伸行, Tsujii Nobuyuki) (also known as Nobu Tsujii) is a Japanese pianist and composer. He was born blind due to microphthalmia. Tsujii performs extensively, with a large number of conductors and orchestras, and has received critical acclaim for his unique techniques for learning music and performing with an orchestra while being unable to see.

LEAD: The Digital Equipment Corporation expects its computer sales in Europe to continue growing in the fiscal year ending June 1989, surpassing growth in the United States, a company spokesman said. ''We fully anticipate that our European operations will continue to have another excellent financial year,'' Mark Steinkrauss said at Digital's annual product show, ''and we expect European growth to outpace that in the United States.

LEAD: The Whirlpool Corporation said it had agreed to acquire the Emerson Electric Company's dishwasher and trash compactor manufacturing business for $17.4 million. Terms include a long-term agreement between Kitchenaid and Emerson for the continued supply of dishwashers to Emerson's In-Sink-Erator division.

LEAD: Sears, Roebuck & Company, the nation's largest retailer, said the Pirelli Tire Corporation, the United States subsidiary of Pirelli S.p.A. of Italy, would be the first manufacturer to have its tires sold at the retailer's tire centers. Beginning Oct. 1, more that 400 Sears stores will offer a limited range of Pirelli's radial tires.

LEAD: The Manville Corporation has reached an agreement with the American Centennial Insurance Company to settle insurance disputes stemming from damage claims filed by former asbestos workers. Terms of the agreement provide for three payments by American Centennial, of Wilmington, Del., totaling $3.4 million, and will cover all of Manville's claims against the insurer for policies covering the periods from July 1, 1980, to July 1, 1981, and from July 1982 to
