Loris Capirossi (Castel San Pietro Terme, 4 april 1973) is een motorcoureur uit Italië, die op 15 juni 2003 de eerste GP-overwinning op een Ducati behaalde in de MotoGP klasse. Capirossi debuteerde in 2003 samen met de Australiër Troy Bayliss met Ducati in de MotoGP. Capirossi heeft na Barcelona 2003 ook overwinningen geboekt in Motegi (Japan) en Sepang (Maleisië) in 2005. In 2006 won hij de seizoensopener in het Spaanse Jerez en op het circuit van Brno won hij ook. Dit herhaalde hij in Japan, op de Twin Ring Motegi. Uiteindelijk eindigde hij met 229 punten als derde in de eindklassering van de MotoGP. Capirossi is naast Rossi de enige coureur die in de 125cc, de 250cc, de 500cc en de MotoGP (990cc) races heeft gewonnen.

defense attys in Pentagon papers trial call W D Gerhard, intelligence analyst for Natl Security Agency of Defense Dept, and Lieut Col E A Miller, former analyst on dept's Security Rev Div, to testify; both have produced repts, ordered earlier by prosecution in case, on effects of release of papers on natl defense and have found that defense was not injured; Ellsberg-Russo defense contends that Govt suppressed repts for many mos; Judge W M Byrne has allowed defense to use findings of Miller and Gerhard but has not allowed defense to bring out its allegations of suppression; defense hopes by calling Miller and Gerhard to taint prosecution's theft case against Ellsberg and Russo
